This year, we again offer the opportunity for free trials of e-bike for your home/work commute. Last year, more than 100 commuters took part in the trial. This is not just a single trip in the neighbourhood, but a two-week free trial, so you can really experience the speed and convenience of an e-bike. Curious? The number of e-bikes is limited, so make sure you reserve a rental bike now at a bike shop in your neighbourhood. Test the e-bike individually or as a group, so you can inspire your colleagues too! The trial runs until the end of December 2021. There are more bikes available in the high season (June to October) than during the low season (November and December).
Cycling together for Stichting Fietsmaatjes Nederland
Together with all other participants, you will try to cycle 10,000 kilometres in the period June to December 2021. If you achieve this goal, Groot Schiphol Bereikbaar will make a donation of € 2,500 to Stichting Fietsmaatjes. After the two test weeks, your individual kilometres will be added to the total amount of kilometres. During the high season, you can use the app Ring-Ring to keep track of your kilometres. With the app you can even continue to contribute to the cause with your own bike after you’ve returned the rental e-bike.
Stichting Fietsmaatjes is committed to people who like to cycle, but who can no longer do so independently. With the volunteers from Fietsmaatjes they can ride regularly on a side-by-side e-bike. It’s a great initiative for people with disabilities.
Collect a rental bike at your local bicycle shop
You can rent an e-bike free of charge for a fortnight. The bike comes with charging cables and instructions on safe use in traffic. Please treat the bike with care, so that other commuters can also enjoy test-riding it later.
Here’s how it works. Reserve a rental bike at your local bike shop using our reservation system. After signing up you will receive an email confirmation . When you pick up the e-bike, bring a valid ID, sign the loan agreement and you are ready for take-off!
Purchasing scheme
Have you participated in the Groot Schiphol Bereikbaar e-bike trial and did you like the experience? Then we have good news for you! You can buy an e-bike at a reduced price under a purchase scheme that provides discounts of up to €300. You can make use of this scheme at Urban e-bikes / Amsterdam’s Scooter City, E-bike Point of Van Rietschoten Tweewielers (only high season).
